Those out there with a different opinion about his talent or skill have every right to that opinion but I will say that I truly enjoy the choices he makes as a director of social commentary with comedy as a result. As he has said, he doesn't try to be the barometer of comedy, he is the barometer if truth (total paraphrase).
And, in my estimation, when the Acadamy tosses four nominations your way in as many feature length movies, your daddy didnt have to "buy" you anything.
