I could not find anything yet but looked up the Richards and Dugan (kyle's mom) surnames:
Richards is a common Celtic Welsh, or Cornish surname based on the English version of the parent's name ending in -S.
Dugan or Duggan (Irish: U Dhgin) is an Irish surname that arose simultaneously in a number of areas, including Cork, Roscommon, Galway, Wexford and Fermanagh.
