Ahh, so this is written with a
cough
left-leaning bias.
I applaud Ms. Rowling for what she's doing. No one's "rights" are being affected, but their "privileges" may be affected. No more special treatment and priority. I support women-only spaces, especially when it comes to bathrooms, lockers, and sports.
If women want to share spaces with men, or are not bothered by the idea, then let's make co-ed spaces where those who enter are doing so of their own free will.
This never used to be a problem until these "advocates" started making it a problem.

There was always a problem with "Men only" spaces Lilith
There were a few clubs that I used to frequent which had women (Wives and daughters usually) wanting to join and take part in.
Needless to say all the nagging away from the clubs eventually brought them into the clubs and they all dissolved and became public spaces open to all. Eventually collapsing
For some there is a sense of
schadenfreude
in watching the ire of the exact same tactics being brought with these ideas of progress against the gender once seen as collectively pushing for them.
The rich still have their exclusive areas which prohibit entry by the hoi polloi, for now. If everyone must take the brunt then I'd like to see those spaces being the first to welcome in those alien to those zones, remove the barriers completely and have this true equality which apparently exists for all.
But I've a funny feeling that classism, the only true ism, while fine a reason why that shouldn't be the case
In fifty years people will have gotten used to whatever it is that this evolves into and regardless of our stance now it will be seen as ancient and barbaric.
I'm just curious as to how many women will be assaulted or killed in the name of liberty.
Been happening to men since time began. Now men just cry about it, dress up as women and attack other women because they couldn't take down an actual man.
But, that's progress (I guess?!)

I'm one of those women who does not have a problem with "men only" spaces. Everyone needs to get away and hang out with their tribe.
When it comes to personal and intimate spaces like a bathroom, locker room, showers, it should not be compelled upon anyone to share. IF there are people who do not mind sharing, create a co-ed space where each person makes the conscious choice to share space. When a fully grown adult male can strip naked in front of a 10-year-old girl, this is when we start getting into "iffy" territory.
Authentically trans individuals have been "sharing spaces" for years, but that was because they had respect for the gender to which they were transitioning, they assimilated, and they didn't make public displays pushing their way in, encroaching on innocent people, feeling entitled to force themselves on unsuspecting individuals. I have shared spaces with legitimate transwomen, and no one suspected precisely because they blended in and never made anyone uncomfortable.
You're quite right. Those "men" who can't hack it as a man in sports are now entering female territory to strip women of their achievements. This is also where I draw the line.
Hopefully we're back to some sort of common sense and mutual respect in the name of progress, though.

Regardless of how this goes many, if not most, of those currently identifying with, or being allied alongside, this movement of non-gendered people, who seem to be solely focussed on gender, will eventually go back into the ebb and flow of biology and look back on this saying that they weren't part of it.
Maybe we'll get lucky this time and a war will start out but with the US being the one being actively invaded and these young men and women will have to take up arms to protect what's actually important to them.
I mean the invasion is already obvious to those with eyes, but one with guns and bombs might resonate better with their image of what they think they are against Lilith

Not only is it disingenuous but it makes a mockery of any actual issues of rights within the proper trans community Kuato
Just going for a simple thing for an example, like the right to eat alone or to be in quiet prayer without disturbance. If enough trouble is made by these activists then people who enjoy eating alone or praying in quiet contemplation might not be able to feel at ease doing either because they are 'part of that group' and therefore a terror to civil society.
This is just bullies hiding behind people who don't want to be noticed.
But, let's not let that get in the way of sticking to the man and his terrible ways of letting such behaviours exist π€¨
