Has our frontrunner for Best Supporting Actress emerged? Who'd of thunk it? I guess it kind of makes sense. She was amazing in Gone Baby Gone, and many people have been predicting Blanchett for "I'm Not There" but I think it's way too soon for a second Oscar. I say, good for Amy Ryan. I'd love to see her go all the way.

And she has just won another award: the Golden Satellite Award for Best Supporting Actress (Gone Baby Gone).

Guys
Naomi Watts got a lot lot lot of awards for 21 Grams and Theron stole her Oscar only with a great make up and now Amy was the surprise but I guess Cate will get the Oscar because she was playing a man and that was a very good impact. Hollywood rules. -

And she won today the DA Annual Achievement Awards (from the Alliance of Women Film Journalists) for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.
And, this thursday, we have the SAG Awards nominations, so:

I just hope that, the WGA and the studios works things out, because I am really interested to see Amy on the award shows, accepting her awards.

Sorry this is a few years late, but I just saw
Gone Baby Gone
on TV and was looking on Amy's site. I knew she was the early critics favorite and that she eventually lost the Oscar. However I was shocked to see "Nominated for Oscar, another 15 wins and 3 nominations"! Wow, she literally won everything except the Big 3 (Oscar, Globe, and SAG), and another critics award. Best Supporting Actress was crazy that year (the Oscar, Globe and SAG all went to someone different), but Amy deserved them IMO. I've never really liked Tilda Swinton's win, and now that I've seen all the nominated performances I can say without a doubt I think Amy deserved the big awards. What a shame, she probably had such high hopes going into the major awards season. Atleast she has 15 critics awards to console her! -

By the time the Oscars came around, I think it had to be pretty clear to her that, fair or unfair, she was no longer the favorite. She'd lost the Golden16d0 Globe to Cate Blanchett, she'd lost the British Academy Award to Tilda Swinton, and she'd lost the SAG award to Ruby Dee.
By the time the Oscars came around, everyone was calling that race completely unpredictable. The only nominee whose victory could have been considered a big surprise was Saoirse Ronan.
