I agree that her performance in CHANGELING is excellent, but perhaps her role is too small and not enough showy to be rememberedand that's a pity if you consider that she was so acclaimed for a showboating perf such as the one in GONE BABY GONE.
Actually it's true that it's unfair to consider Eastwood's flick just as an Angie's vehicle. she's amazing, but I think we can say the same concerning the supporters, expecially IMHO Michael Kelly as the detective who discovers the truth
I don't know if Jolie or Ryan will be nominated this year (even if I hope so), but I really, really wish CHANGELING receives the nomination as best ensemble by the Screen Actors Guild Awardsbecause it really deserves it!!! -

She was good in Changeling, but not in there enough for any award. I agree she was much better in Gone, Baby, Gone, but that year I was rooting for Cate Blanchett for I'm Not There., although I would have liked either of them to win over Swinton.

she was amazing in Gone Baby Gone. Overall it was a great performance, she had me feeling for her one moment and wanting to strangle her the next. As a Boston resident, I find her near or at the top of a very short list of actors who were believable as a Bostonian. Her accent was spot-on, no bad Kennedy impersonation here. Her look, sound, mannerisms: perfect working-class local chick. Very abrasive and just the right amount of skankiness. I come across dozens of women that look like her around here everyday. Bravo!
This is Dorsia?
