The bulk of which comes from the Avatar franchise. Scarlett Johansson was the previous title holder, with most of her box office earnings coming from the Avengers movies.

Scarlett Johansson's reign atop the box office leaderboard is over… for now.
The Black Widow star, who previously held the title for highest-grossing actor of all time, has been dethroned by fellow Marvel star Zoe Saldaña, thanks to the latter's starring role in James Cameron's Avatar film series.
The latest film in the Pandora-set sci-fi movies, Avatar: Fire and Ash, officially crossed $1.23 billion at the worldwide box office as of Jan. 12, which, per The Numbers, firmly cements Saldaña atop the list of highest-grossing movie stars with a massive total of $16,859,193,100 at the worldwide box office.
Johansson, meanwhile, now sits at No. 2 with $16,435,483,784.
The Avatar trilogy, in which Saldaña has played the central Na'vi character Neytiri, of course accounts for a massive part of her cume — about $6 billion to be exact. However, her multiple stints with Marvel as Gamora, and her roles in three Star Trek movies, as well as 2003's mega hit Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, certainly don't hurt.

Yeah I read about that last week. I just didn't post it.
        Seems unbelievably news don't it?
I never thought she was all that special.

No one really cares. I don't like the interviews she does. All she talks about is how wheit she is. Zendaya is so much better.

This is a silly caption. It's nothing to do with her personal income, just the films and franchises she has been in - along with lots of other actors.

Yah. It seems to imply she's the cause of the films grossing so much, which is not so. Hugo Weaving used to hold this title because of lotr and The Matrix.

Amusingly, using the same logic, Benedict Cumberbatch is one of the highest grossing actors of all time (apparently) having appeared in $15+ billion worth of films. Talented and interesting an actor as he is, I don't think anyone would mistake him for the kind of lead who could power those kind of earnings.
Even more amusingly, Stan Lee stands head and shoulders above everyone thanks to his pop-up in so many Marvel movies.
