Decent acting? Please, she's only hired because they needed a light skin black person from DR who is too stupid to understand that she's hispanic. When people are ask what nationality or ethnic background they are, they're being asked what their subculture really is. But she's too of a self righteous feminist to answer it properly. If you ask someone from Jamaica, they would say they are Jamaican, that's their culture. I have a friend from the DR, he doesn't say he's black, he consider himself hispanic.

Uh, she's black AND Hispanic, and has already said that she is, more than once. She knows exactly who she is, so why do you even have a problem with it? Black Hisp2000anic people have been in the Caribbean for 500 years,in case you didn't know. Your little stupid rant dosen't make any damn sense anyway. And what does her being a feminist have to do with anything? Also, she is NOT anywhere near being light-skinnedI don't know why anybody keeps saying thatshe's just as dark-skinned as I am. And,yes, she's a good actress on top of that. Hate on her all you want, she's still be making big box-office films while you whine and moan about her being married to a white boy (yawn.) -

She is a biracial Afro-Latina.
Both parents are biracial.

I agree with you about her heritage situation, so many people are so butthurt about her heritage, seriously, there's just so much of this unnecessary debate about whether she's black or latina. She has already confirmed numerous times that she has BOTH black and latina heritage, she is a black Latina, how many times does she have to say it for people to understand? Seriously, it's annoying some of her fans, and I think Zoe herself probably finds it annoying too that so many people are making such a big fuss about her heritage.
While on the other hand, I disagree with you about Zoe's acting, I think she's a decent actress, I don't think she's one of the "best" actors I've seen, but I certainly don't think she's "bad" either, she's a decent actress. I have seen some actors who are much worse than her frankly.
Its funny because people will claim Zoe doesn't consider herself black, yet will never say when she said this (because no such quote exists). Its very annoying Zoe has become the poster child for self hate over something she's never ever said. Ironically she said the exact opposite
When I go to the D.R., the press in Santo Domingo always asks, "Qu te consideras, dominicana o americana?" (What do you consider yourself, Dominican or American?) I don't understand it, and it's the same people asking the same question. So I say, time and time again, "Yo soy una mujer negra." ("I am a black woman.") [They go] "Oh, no, t eres trigueita." ("Oh no, you are 'dark skinned'") I'm like, "No! Let's get it straight, yo soy una mujer negra." ("I am a black woman.")
Also, a lot of people get confused when a black person talks about their nationality and immediately jump to conclusions. -

Based on many comments I have read from people who have criticised Zoe here and on social media, it seems many people who hate her and have criticised her are mostly black people who are upset because they feel that Zoe has been downplaying or "denying" her black roots in favor of her Hispanic heritage. There also seems to be many black people who are upset with Zoe that she is always working and pairing up with white people in movies and for the fact that she has only dated white men in the past and even married another white man. Because of all these reasons, many blacks seem to think that she has "betrayed" her black heritage and in turn "betrayed" her own people in favor of white people.
Yet at the same time, there are also many black people who do not even consider Zoe to be black, hence why there was so much backlash and criticism towards Zoe playing Nina Simone. This is what I am confused about, because there are some black people who are apparently upset with Zoe because she has been downplaying her black roots while seemingly favouring her Latin heritage and is always socialising and mingling with white people. But there are also many other black people who do not even consider her to be black because she's not African American. So the way many black people view Zoe is quite confusing to me, some blacks seem to hate her because they think she is "betraying" her black heritage, while other blacks hate her because they don't even think she238's black at all and are upset that she played Nina Simone.
Either way, it seems Zoe is unpopular among the black community in particular, apparently she's more liked by people who are not black.
