Oh yeh he was Chris's bagging oposition in Keanan and Kel, i used to like the amanda show, particulary 'Penelope Taynt' and that girl that kept going 'Mah Hah' but all his shows are VERY corny, i'd hardly call him a genious, maybe if he did a serious tv show too, but his programs are very similar, plus i hope he did not 'create' the character 'Lauren' in 'What I Like About You' because Lauren is just a copy of 'Mary Cherry' from Popular, eep, don't get me wrong, i obviously like the guy, or i wouldn't have found my way to his board, and most of his shows are very watchable, but i don't think his shows really stand out enough to be remembered, can you imagine in 50 years time someone actually looking back at 'Drake and Josh' or 'What I Like About You' and calling it a classic? Thats what makes a genious. Dan is however an all round talented guy, some of HIS original character's (not counting Lauren, as i consider that to be Ryan murphy's character) have made me laugh, so i guess i owe him a thanks for that, and a thankyou for my Penelope Taynt obsession, that was great!

I guess he is at Kids shows yes, Ok then, i will agree with that.
He can make very good television for early teens and children.
and incredibly immature 19 year olds like myself, although i think 'What I Like About You' has been targetted at young adults/ late teens? which i think is the WRONG audience, the show really lacks the emotion and humour i crave for a show targeted at me like that , its a bit vacuous and corny, very nickelodeon, but i guess thats what you get. It never seem to tackle typical problems and issues with any seriousness, and he tends to leave the more touchy subjects alone.. (racism, sexism, drugs, alcohol, sex)
which all can be lightly dealt with for a show meant for older teens and young adults, without taking things too seriously.I guess he tends to stick ONLY to the comedy, and includes very little drama, but i guess you can blame the writers for that.

Well yeh, i can see what you mean by that, in the shows targeted at younger teens and kids 'Drake and Josh' 'The Amanda Show' and indeed the movie 'Good Burger' but in 'What i like about you' the characters face problems that wouldn't happen in a kids world and they are not dealt with properly, i just think the show is not really appropriate for anyone, its not mature enough to be for older teens and young adults (even if it is meant for them), and its not childish or comical enough for younger teens and children, lol well it started when i was 16, and i thought it was OK, so maybe you have to be 15 or 16 to really like it? heh, i don't know, all i know is that he, or SOMEBODY copied my favourite fictional character (Mary Cherry) and dulled her down, i suppose thats why i'm so annoyed at the show!, but at the same time, even if she is not the same Psycho Cherry she was in 'Popular', 'Lauren' still makes the show worth watching.

yeh, the second series of 'Popular' got a little corny, but i like Ryan Murphy, his shows are a mix of comcal kids humour mized with black humour, as well as that he tackles many issues in his shows superbly, and even throughout the general unbelieveability of the show, the outcomes of episodes dealing with racisim, homphobia, all have realistic endings, which i'l admit is often a downer, but 'Popular' is in my top 5 favourite TV shows, i like 'Nip/Tuck' a lot too, and i love the fact that he has kept lots of the humour from popular, gross,crude, and very childish, lets face it, we werv't all innocent kids, but i suppose its nice to watch a show by Dan every now and again, to escape the harsh outcomes of reality, or the adult world that Ryan potrays.

Ha! yeh, i think that TV shows aimed at young teens though, should discuss the touchy topics, it helps kids/teens grow and understand, i think 'What I Like About You' is very unrealistic, if it was a comical show like 'Kenan and Kel' which is obviously devoid of reality, thats fine, because kids know that, but its not, thats another reason why im putting it down all the time, Its stuck in the middle of two genres and its pretty bland.
but again, it is also keeping MARY CHERRY alive

Ha, i find that wierd, see i have been to london a million times, but i really want to visit New York.OMG! Patsy Kensit that woman from Emmerdale and Bo Selecta?, i wouldn't have thought she'd be known in the USA? She isn't exactly well k111cnown here to my knowlege, i prefer lots of american tv to english,

BTW, if you are into british tv shows, you HAVE to watch 'As If' its my favourite UK tv show, a drama focusing on 6 college students in london, there was an american remake of it, but it got cancelled after like 3 episodes,cos the british to american translation thing never works
