Its not about men or women, there is stupid people in the world of both genders and all races..why complain now that men are FINALLY being portrayed as something other than the leader of the house, hero etc. Roles women never had to look up to until today, thats all im saying. Women have been portrayed as morons, weak, children, annoying since literally the beginning of film, tv, and even books. Now that its finally starting to equal out (which its still not even close) people (men) now see a problem with it? So why wasn't it wrong before, when it was extremely one-sided?
Don't even get me started on the other more harmful portrayals of women and sexualizing of children going on. You said "seems as though there is an accepted denigration of males"wheres I would strongly claim the opposite (Im sure you can think of some examples), I never hear anything but denigration of women in movies and tv, and its widely accepted and laughed at, the difference is the denigration of women stems quite a bit farther back (thousands of years) and still goes on today in a world where the power has and still is mostly held by white men. It was only the 90s when you could still legally rape your wife in the USA, women have been considered property up until recent times, so excuse my lack of sympathy for "bumbling sitcom dads", I just think theres way more important things to worry about
The shows in question (I'm assuming you are talking about family guy, simpsons etc. Are made by men, that saying "throw rocks at boys they're stupid" (however it goes) was made by 2 menthen I hear about guys whining about it and taking these things out on women and feminisminstead of actually figuring out whos behind it? Feminism is a political science that doesn't care about frivolous schoolyard sayings, they care about civil rights and equality for all, when its achieved these silly sayings wont exist, gender roles will be a thing of the past and it would sound just as ludicrous as being racist sounds nowadays (its common for the groups to be affiliated with anti-poverty, anti-gay and anti racist organizations for a reason) that have men and women of every color and walk of life working at them (unlike the CEOs of a bank).
I worked at a help centre (mostly to do with help of abuse, anti-poverty etc) and they help everyone, no one is turned away. If you are a 250 pound rich white guy you will get help if you need it and wont be laughed away for speaking out against abuse like you will from the 250 pound rich white morons at the police station who couldn't care less even when truly helpless people come to them for help. The humiliation is amazing and its sick that people with so little training in basic compassion have the power to strip you naked and arrest you.
Anyways I'm getting off topic, whichever way you slice it the portrayals of women to this day on tv/movies is much more detrimental to women than the portrayals of men are to other men, and I still haven't heard one thing men are complaining about that hasn't applied to women much more harshly, for longer, whilst being one-sided, there just is no contest. I don't understand how people can blame women let alone feminism for tv shows males are creating and writing.. that logic is just fantastic to me.
Thank you for not responding with something stupid, that's hard to come by on the internet, your name really had me convinced you were a troll but I guess I just don't watch 30 rock lol

Yes agreed, and lots of domestic abuse in the gay community as well, a lot of people forget about that.
I like nutty things like metalocalypse, mad tv, trailer park boys, but just went on an I Love Lucy streak last week lol. I liked Tina Fey on weekend update, SNL has gotten lame in the last few years, not16d0 her fault though she was one of the ones keeping it afloat

Was Jade ever a bully? I mean she's a bitch to Tori and she's a smart ass with a vicious tongue but she never intentionally went out of her way to harm or insult someone. Also she never laid a hand on anyone. It was all really just threats. I know a lot of girls like that and would never considered them bullies.
Sam in the first 2 seasons could be seen as a bully but if you pay attention and not just feel completely sympathetic for Freedie, he gave it out just as good as he got and his insults while fewer seemed to be meant to cut deeper. There are a lot of times where Freddie insults her first as well. Also you will see she starts to grow out of it after middle school and does it less and less to the point in season 3 Carly and Freddie expect her to save the little kid the big girl was really bullying and by the last 2 seasons she really beat up a guy messing with Gibby, beats up guy messing with a random nerd, and reprimands a former friend for picking on a kid for being a nerd.
A bully to me is someone who takes everything away from you and cuts you down to make themselves feel better. Also I bully will never help you out and just want you miserable. All friends picking on, throw insults, and good around but they no when to stop or when they've gone to far and feel bad. A bully doesn't stop till you are crying or as low as you can get. For example, there have been kids recently that bullied kids till they killed themselves and then afterwards have made jokes about it online or even mocked a family member that still went to the school.
Also I think people give Jade and Sam such a hard time and call them bullies because of societies feelings torwards women. While both Sam and Jade are sexy as hell they have a more male associated personality. If Gibby does what Sam does to Freddie it's just guys messing around same as when Andre or Beck does it to Robbie. Yet Sam and Jade doing it is seen as being horrible cause girls are not supposed to do that, they are supposed to be sweet and submissive to males how dare she say that or put her hands on a man in a non sexual way.

Not just King of Queens. Watch Everybody Loves Raymond. That's a full-on domestic abuse situation with a laugh track! For some reab68son, a woman bullying a man on TV is okay but visa versa, it would be absolutely shocking.

                        This
is the kind of stuff that I actually figured would never be addressed in any "sitcom" today where something questionable goes down and nobody does anything about it. If you need some relief of a fresh series that actually has a character that would have done differently - check these episob68des below.
I wouldn't say Dan "glorifies" but
                        doesn't
have the credibility to fix plot-holes and be as realistic as I would have made it. Freddie and Robbie would
                        both
have their revenge/happy ending respectfully earned.
