He wasn't in it. He made it up so it sounded like he had experience. He lied about his age and just about everything else, but he got the part.

I am not sure he is in Smokey and the bandit, But he did play a sheriff Named Buford Enright in the Tv Movie Bandit: Bandit Bandit.

I forgot about this thread. I found out where he was (saw an interview) Hes at the very end. The crowd is watching Buford chase Bandit and hes one of the spectators wearing a cowboy hat. You can only really see his silhouette.
