Jill Schoelen truly deserves a spot in the Horror Hall of Fame. Whenever people speak of scream queens, we hear, Jamie Lee Curtis, Barbara Steele, Daria Nicolodi, but rarely does any mention the wonderful, loveable, Jill Schoelen. She was cute as a button, even while she was chased around by homicidal stepfathers, psychotic classmates, and disfigured maniacs. The Stepfather is an exceptional peice of horror cinema (DVD anyone?) and Popcorn is one of the most enjoyable horror experiences to come out of the 90s. Cutting Class is one of those horror films you can watch without giving too much attention to it (read a book or fold some laudry or something). Hopefully, Jill will make a return to horror movies, until then I guess I'll just have to watch The Curse 2 :

Jill looked great in The curse 2 and cutting class. I looooooooooooved her in Popcorn and The Stepfather and Phantom of the opera! I saw Chiller and that was pretty good too with Schoelen. I also loved When a stranger calls back! She was so pretty with her black hair and charm! I wish she would make some scary movies that would go straight to video.

It's a shame that Jill seems to have been overlooked or forgotten by most horror fans. During the late 1980s - early 1990s, she was the pre-eminent scream queen in the same way that Jamie Lee Curtis had been in the late 1970s - early 1980s.
