Do you know how many acres have been affected with all of these fires now? The numbers keep changing, and I just read about the SoCal one moments ago. Imagine, just when people were probably starting to think they could settle into returning to their lives, and this comes along.

More evacuation orders and warnings. What a nightmare for those people. Unimaginable.

Hughes fire is what it's being called
          I guess it's pretty serious.

Wow! That looks like a large fire and that's quite an expansive area for an evacuation order set in place. That must mean they're anticipating this fire spreading rapidly.

We'll just have to see how it goes Lilith but there's a new sheriff in town and I doubt he'll be risking any lives or property so early into his position.
But, nature always wins if it wants and so let's just hope for the best

A fast-spreading wildfire sparked in northern Los Angeles County, prompting new evacuation orders in a region already decimated by historic wildfires this month.
The Hughes fire, which broke out north of Santa Clarita in the Castaic, Calif., area earlier Wednesday, has scorched more than 8,000 acres and is 0% contained, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, or Cal Fire. Evacuation orders have been issued for several areas.
Castaic is a remote, unincorporated part of northern Los Angeles County with a lake that draws many visitors in the summer. It has a population of about 19,000, according to the 2020 U.S. Census.
Students from several nearby schools were evacuated. Officials have also closed a large stretch of Interstate 5 in the area.
Winds are expected in the area overnight, said Ryan Kittell, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service. At high elevations, gusts are likely to hit 40 to 50 miles an hour before strengthening overnight, Kittell said. Lower elevations are likely to see winds at 25 to 35 mph.
