His terrible acting & character is really distracting to the series. He gives constant long speeches that seriously couldn't be more dry. I see that maybe faking an American accent is part of the problem for him, but COME ON. His acting is very soap opera esque.

I have to agree, I started watching this show last night. Two things stood out, Skarsgard's accent, and this guy's terrible overacting.
I don't normally notice this sort of thing either.
