I also know a lot of gay men who talk of women and sex. I have a good male friend who was burned by his ex-wife and has remained a committed bachelor ever since. I also have a good friend who has had sex with plenty women and almost married one. Then he came out as a gay many years later. So what do Y0U OWN????

Why is the burdern of proof on me, you classless, forgetful hack?
Do you also know a lot of straight men who "talk of women and sex?" What is your point, exactly?
If you are going to make baseless and defaming claims of a persons sexual orientation do it in private, with like minded friends who like to drop the makes of their auto's without being prompted.
Furthermore Mr. OP, you referenced a "bet" for "everything you own" not me. -

That's not what I asked even though I do find him very attractive. I love his huge lips and his empathatic eyes. He has got to be a world class kisser. And if you took one look at me, you know in one second he'd date me. You would too.

No, the question has never crossed my mind about him. But there is hardly a thread in imdb for any person or movie where people don't try to prove the person is gay.
If you read the wiki on Gary Shandling, it's pretty clear he came into comedy from the creative side and that's from writing. He did stand-up because he got sick of formula of sitcoms. This isn't a surprise, the late George Carlin said he didn't want to be in a kitchen with a kid who is smarter than the parents. He had creative freedom and success with The Larry Sanders Show and to stop that to do what he would have found to be an uncreative talk show just isn't what Gary Shandling is about. -

Actually, Linda Doucett, the "Playboy" bunny, who you mentioned, lived with and was engaged to Garry for 7 years; that is hardly "brief". (She played "Darlene" on the Larry Sanders show.) As far as being "outed" as being gay because turned down the offers of hosting 2 major late night TV talk shows, and because he leads a very private life, is a reach. He could very well, be gay but he also could very well be straight. His need to make his private life, "private", is not unusual or out of the ordinary. Celebrities, especially ones who reside in the LA area, are constantly being talked about, scrutinized and often, on the boarder of being stalked. Garry was also one of the victims of the completely baseless and ruthless, Anthony Pellicano. So, after being the subject of a sexual harassment suit, brought on by ex, Linda Doucett (likely, Doucett was fired as a result of she and Garry breaking up.), being prey to Anthony Pellicano's wire tab68ps, and a current resident of LA or near to LA, gay or not, I can understand why Garry is anxious to keep a VERY low profile.
Also, the information about Garry being offered the spot on the "Late Night Show", has never been verified, and always been a constant rumor.

Straight. No doubt ever in my mind. If he were gay, and didn't want anyone to know, ever, then he's been playing a dangerous game. Much of his humor on The Larry Sanders Show was about his romantic and sexual life. There was also, of course, the David Duchovny storyline. That would be a very bold thing to do for a gay man who insisted on living in the closet. And Linda Doucetb68t was obviously crushed when their relationship fell apart. She was no beard for a gay man.
