Blimey, she has the most irritatingly squeaky voice. All nasal and like a little girl.
I find it jarring each time she come on the screen.
I'm amazed no-one has drawn this to her attention before now Drama School tutors for example.
Get some voice lessons girl and discover your chest voice! -

Her voice is nearly the same in Wallander as it was in Marple actually
That's not playing a part - that's nasality which makes your voice sound 'all head and no chest'. There should be a balance between the two for a rounded sound.
It's basic voice production. Any book on vocal technique for actors would warn against this kind of nasality.
I find it grating every time she comes on the screen, I'm afraid
I also find her a distinctly average actress.
Still. It takes all sorts I suppose.
I just can't for the life of me understand the appeal
The rest of the cast in Wallander are simply excellent - I love the UK dramatisations as well as the original Swedish adaptations. -

I find her quite annoying in Wall111cander as well. (I thought she was great playing David Copperfield's mum, just so you know I'm not one of these people who goes online to slag actors off.) I think she has a few mannerisms she needs to rein in.

Sarah is not only one of the most respected actresses in the country but she's also one of the most successful.
I find your comments to be utter rubbish and are obviously the rantings of a somewhat frustrated actress herself.
if you ever do manage to have a fraction of the success that Sarah has had in her long and varied career then you might be qualified to pass judgement. Until then, i suggest you delete your bitter little messages.
