Yeah she was. As much as I love Meredith with McDreamy, I am curious to see where this goes too. Lauren's character seems very down-to-earth.

NOOOOO derek and meredith all the way. they are the main reason i watch greys! ill be devastated if rose splits them up, oh my god i would die. even though meredith is whiny and self centred she's still my favourite character and she MUST stay with derek!

She just signed on to play a love interest for Pab68trick Dempsey's character on Grey's Anatomy starting in episode 9 (nov/dec).

Slightly presumptious I think. There's no definite certainty that she's a love interest, there's rumours it could be one of his sisters or a new work colleague. My God I hope it is. Can't stand MerDer not together!!
