I recently had the pleasure of meeting and speaking to Barbara Steele at the Chiller Convention in Parsippany, New Nersey on Sunday, October 26. She's a really nice, polite and graceful lady who still looks quite good and attractive. I talked with Ms. Steele about "Shivers" and "Caged Heat." Plus I got an autographed photo of her from "Black Sunday" for twenty bucks. Has anyone else ever met the lovely and elegant Barbara Steele?

I met her last week at the Festival of Fear in Toronto. She signed my copy of
Castle of Blood
. She is a very polite and nice woman and she was so touched that somebody my age (only 21) wanted her autograph for films she did before I was even born.

I met her at the Festival of Fear fan expo in Toronto as well. I flew all the way from Calgary (albeit, I was in Toronto to visit my brother as well).
I got an autographed copy of "Nightmare Castle" (absolutely, my favorite horror movie of all time, if not my favorite movie ever) and she signed my "Pit and the Pendulum" poster (the director, Roger Corman was also at the convention and I got his signature on it as well).
My impressions of her were that I was completely bashful and intimidated by meeting one of the living legends of the true golden age of horror movies (the 1957-1974 AIP/Hammer era). All I could muster to say was that 'Castle' was my favorite movie ever and left it at that. -
