Colbert can be funny and i often watch the highlights of his show online, but I DVR The daily show and frequently watch it a couple times before deleting

I prefer Jon Stewart. Colbert is good, but I find his schtick a little tiresome at times, and his interviews annoy the hell out of me. Stewart is actually a good interviewer - he knows when to go for the funny and when t2000o go a little more en pointe, and if I'm going to listen to an interview I actually want to hear what the interviewee has to say, and you don't get that with Colbert.

I vote JS because he is the perfect straight man to "do the Buster Keaton" when somebody says something stupid. Let the politicians and news organizations say all the stupid stuff and allow to react. I never tire of it. On the hand, Colbert with the right material can be funnier and his "My father was a turd miner" gag in the 2004 Democratic Convention is still TDS best moment. (Also the Prez H&C, whose father was goat herder, burst on the national scene.)
To be honest, they really are a terrific duo in the pattern of Abbott & Costello or George & Jerry. (JS straight man with Colbert laying the jokes) Even when the material sucks, they can still be funny. -

Jon Stewart BY FAR. Colbert is funny but too egocentric. In his show he his god. He makes fun of the people he interviews instead of interviewing them while adding some nice jokes to lighten up the environment, like Stewart does. That's why I think JS is much more humble and true, which makes him funnier than Colbert.

I hate it when people compare the two. I love them both and consider them best when they're a duo.
Jon is the one who seems more politically invested, but Colbert does have better comedic skills. They offset each other well. I think Colbert ups the humor, while Jon offsets Colbert's outrageous character quite well.
Why would a banana grab another banana? Those are the kind of questions I don't want to answer. -

I wouldn't do without either of them, they're both outstanding in their own, very different way. I usually get more laughs from The Colbert Report, but when Jon gets on a roll, he outshines Colbert.
