    Condonmeans "condom" in spanish.
Does that mean that Sunjata is his middle name? Because not many americans carry two last names.

      Yes, but I don't think it's pronounced "con-DON."

Condon (Irish Condn) is a surname that originated in Ireland, and now most common in counties Cork, Limerick and Tipperary. The name is derived from the Anglo-Norman name de Caunteton, which came to Ireland in the 12th Century with the invader Nicholas de Caunteton. (Wikipedia)
His profile says his heritage is African-American, German & Irish. Doesn't say he's Latinoalthough many Latinos from Puerto Rico, Cuba & the Dominican Republic are of African descent (from slaves rather than Spaniards).
I just started watching Rescue Me so I don't know much trivia about the actors!

I don't know what his last name means but I am sure his middle name, Sunjata, is West African. Sundiata/Sundjiata, was the emperor in Mali.

His adoptive parents are Irish American. Condon is his birth name, Sunjata appears to be a stage name.

                Hi Colleen,
I know that Wikipedia lists Sunjata as his middle name but no one who knew him from his student days in Chicago said that he used it until he started acting. He was always just Danny Condon and he got his MFA under Condon.

Oh. I didn't know that. I was just sayin that stage names tend to be mab68de up and I didn't think sunjata was made up but rather simply his middle name. Anyway, it sounds good 🙂

it says in his bio that his adoptive other gave him the middle name of Sunjatait's a West African name meaning "hungry lion" from an ancient African king of Mali (a West African country.) I think it's unique and beautiful.
