Wow, things have been quiet around here. I guess ever111cyone ran out of both acclaim and criticism at about the same time. I did come across this however, which might start off a new round of debate, or just mindless chatter, who knows. But since nobody has posted it here yet, I thought I would take the initiative. It's a recent interview with Jay, directed by Ciana Stone of "Hunks 'n' Hussies", a collective of romance writers, as Jay was chosen as the June "Hunk-'O-the-month" so to speak.
http://hunksnhussies.net/Hunk.htm
It starts out with some Q & A about his film career and the characters he's played. The only thing I disagreed with was his mention of "I am one of the only multi ethnic actors who has managed to portray more than just one race on film." That multi-ethnic claim still irks me. Not only is it just a slight bit arrogant, but it's completely false. There are many multi-ethnic actors who portray many different ethnicities, and have done so very successfully. But, I've already ranted about that on a previous post. Back to the interview.
Many of Jay's hardcore fans will no doubt find reason to salivate over it, as Ciana asks about his romantic passions and desires. Ciana herself, seems to get quite worked up when Jay likens himself to an "Exotic Dangerous Cat". No really, that's what he says. Frankly, I think it sounds more like a comic book hero than a sex symbolbut if a spandex oufit is involved, then I have no complaints! Jay does mention wanting to branch out in his choice of roles and do something contemporary that will bust Hollywood stereotypes and break the rules. He started out his career with Vega, from StreetfighterI think it's time he did another cultish, comic/anime-inspired film. Anyone for "The Adventures of Exotic Dangerous Cat-Man"? On the prowl and stalking into a theater near you? Silly, I know, but hey it was there for the taking.
Aside from Jay talking about how great and sexy Jay is, Ciana also remarks briefly about his humanitarian efforts. Jay's comments about them are in a smaller box to the right of the screen and unfortunately the text gets cut off at the bottom. Then it's back to Jay being sexy again. Oh well, this interview was from a romantic fiction forum, not Larry King Live; so I guess humanitarian work gets the backseat to bulging pecs and a tight butt. There were also some interesting facts that I haven't heard mentioned before. Among these were that Jay attended boarding school in England. That would explain his accent, which I've always thought to have a funny Scottish broque to it almost. He also says that he was married for 12 years and is now single. He says he has no "leading lady" in his life now, but counters with "Although, there are many supporting cast, in the waiting. LOL." Again, Ciana melts into an orgasmic puddle. Jay also mentions being an active screenwriter and having aspirations of directing, as most actors do. Has anyone heard of any of his written work? I've seen him credited as a screenwriter before, but never any mention of what he's actually written, though he does say that he's sold several screenplays. I wonder if he writes about the same sorts of genres that he acts in, or if he prefers to go a completely different route.
At any rate, that's what I thought of the interview. Anyone else care to comment? Don't be shy now, I know you're out there. grin -

I've heard that too Kitty, though most of the time I've seen anywhere from 35-38 listed for his age. But, I've never seen an actual year of birth listed, just the current age. Makes sense I guess, if he's hiding his real age. True, he doesn't look 47, so you'd think he wouldn't mind admitting to it. So if he is 47 then he would have been born in 1960. I've seen older pics of Jay before. You can tell they were taken in the 80's by what he was wearing, and he looks to be in his 20s. There's one in particular that's a black and white of when he was a kid. It says that it was taken when he was 13, but it looks older than that, like it was taken in the 70s. Jay himself (if it is infact Jay) must have been at least 16 in it, because there's no way that any normal 13 year old develops muscles like thatnot naturally at least.

Yep! That's the same one I'm thinking of. He's in mid-air, striking a karate-like pose. He must have been bouncing on a trampoline to get the shot, but the photo itself does look vintage. You can't see a close up of his face so its hard to tell if it looks like him. But, I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't.
