Wow, that's a lot of words. I only read part of it and then got bored and skimmed the rest. Must be great to have so much free time and be able to write so many long winded posts like this where you can just blabber on and on and on and on

I have to say that at this moment in time I'm not lstening to any one voice in particular, as I've said previously I'm here sitting on the fence and making my own mind up.
But I will reiterate this, that if anybody sends a message to me and it's polite and civilised then I will not be seen to be taking sides by ignoring them and I will extend to them the same courtesy that they have shown to me and reply in kind. And I repeat that does not mean I am taking sides. I would just like to talk to reasonable people in a rational, civilised and polite manner. I have absolutely no intention of fawning over anybody but conversely neither do I intend to take part in a dialogue of hate.
As for Jay Tavare being good looking, well I know from reading previous posts that you have mentioned this fact several times before and I will go so far as to agree with you that, yes, he is good looking. Although I do think that fact is a given and that nobody has actaully said on this site, at least as far as I'm aware and I stand to be corrected on this one, that he isn't good looking. In the nicest way possible what I am quite interested in Sofia is quite why you keep mentioning it? 🙂 Don't you think that good looks, as important as they are in the society in which we live, are only half the picture? The wrapping on the parcel so to speak? The question remains, for any of us as human beings, is what is in the box? Just like many nameless and faceless ordinary people across the globe, regardless of the fact whether they are deemed to be good looking or otherwise, Jay Tavare commits himself to his charities, that to me speaks volumes about the man rather than his good looks.

My mention of his looks is because most of us when we first saw him were gob smacked as you guys like to say back in jolly old England.
He is a strikingly good looking man, that is something even the haters on here agree on, but the reason he has so many fans who stay loyal to him and come back to his sites again and again, is because we think his outer beauty matches his inner beauty and some even think his spirit leaves his looks in the dust.
Have you read the Q and A's on his fan site. All the answers are by Jay himself. They may give you a glimpse of his inner side and they may give you a lot more information on Jay Tavare then anything you may learn from this mob. Trust me on this one. lol
It's nice to meet you I am a mother of two kids who happen to be twins and I have a legal background and although I don't need to work again for the rest of my life I do represent a case a two when I find them interesting.
                Take care
                Sofia.

I sometimes post on the fan forum and my posts have never been censored or what so ever.
The only way to find out is maybe post something yourself and then see if you want to stay or not.
                  Btw, welcome to the board

You're quite right about posting on the Jay Tavare board and seeing what happens for myself, it's that old expression isn't it, "the proof of the pudding is in the eating."
To be quite frank with you I thought I'd start with this one first, putting my toe in the water, so to speak, and see what happens, both on the part of myself and of others.
So I will continue to dabble my toe every now and then and I might take it further or I may not! 🙂
But thank you for the welcome.

Well we certainly do use the expession "gob smacked" as you so rightly say. However I don't think that we have thought of ourselves being "jolly old England" sinceohhh..the 1940's, if not before!! Its a bit like that old chestnut the London Fog, gone but obviously not forgotten!! 🙂
In all honesty I have quickly perused the Jay Tavare site but have not stayed around for a longer look. I may well drop in and see the Q & A board as you suggest. The trouble is that, for me at least, Q & A pages always lead inevitable to more questions! If the mods at the Jay Tavare site find that my questions are, oh shall I put this, uncomfortable? Then I suspect that no-one would take the time to answer them and I would be no further forward in having my curosity assuaged or in taking part in a thought provoking but hopefully stimulating conversation. But I think I'm running ahead of myself here and I shall just have to wait and see what happens should I decide to join.
With regards to Jay Tavare's spirit I gather that his beliefs closely follow those of the Native American's? (I apologise in advance if I should not use the expession Native American, if somebody could advise as to what the correct terminology should be I would be most grateful.) I admit that I have no knowledge, other than a vague understanding, concerning the Native American belief system. I remember taking a book out of the library years ago to learn more about their beliefs. The trouble was the book assumed a level of knowledge that I simply didn't possess, I think I frowned my way through about a third of it desperately trying to find a thread that I could latch on to to make it fall into place before I had to admit defeat and take the book back! One of these days I may well revisit the subject but this time I could make use of the internet to facilitate my search for a book that would gently take me by the hand and introduce me to the subject rather than being hurled headlong into the middle of it! 🙂
Sofia you are incredibly lucky in never having to work again. If I were in that enviable position I would travel, no doubt about it. Although admittedly with two children you are rather bound to one place, nevertheless I do envy you. Especially since I could also take advantage of the fact that I could, in the most succinct way possible, tell the people whom I work with and for what I think of them and where they could all go. Preferably a circuitous route that ends with the Devil! But that, as they say, is another story!

Just a short note, since I did say that I was intending to step down from my soap box for awhile. Judgemenot said that my information was wrong about Jay being in a Spanish dance troupe. If I am wrong, then that means that the January 2004 edition of Cowboys & Indians magazine which interviewed Jay was also wrong when they said, "While still a student in European boarding schools, he produced and choreographed a
                        Spanish dance troupe
, earned a World Breakdance Championship, then graduated to acting in TV commercials."
                        http://www.cowboysindians.com/articles/archives/0104/0104fr2.html
Also, the comment about the orange skin and botox was said because I knew it would set Judgemenot off, which it did, beautifully. Firstly, because there are in fact several photos of Jay where his skin does look very orange and secondly because the mere mention of the possibility of Jay using botox (not a far fetched assumption for an aging actor, right?) just freaks Judgemenot out. And as you've probably noticed, it's very amusing to watch what happens when she does freak out. It's purely for entertainment purposes.

I think in replying to this it's eggshell time, I knew that it would come and that it would probably be tonight so let us throw the cards up in the air, so to speak and see where they land! 🙂
Okay firstly, yes I did glean that particular piece of information from the Cowboys and Indians archives. As to whether it is entirely factual and correct I have no idea. On a general note some less than scrupulous journalists seem to take an idea and run with it. Obviously if it's particularly salacious idea, rumour, tidbit of information, etc. its going to guarantee increased sales, they repeat a retraction in an obscure corner of the magazine several weeks later. None of the reading public will notice it and if they do then they won't care because it's last weeks news. Job done. I'm afraid in Britian that type of journalist seems to be widespread especially for some of the daily rags that are in circulation over here (you simply can't award them the title of newspaper or magazine.)
As for the use of Botox well that and plastic surgery seems to be more prevalent in Western societies as a whole, in all sections of society and especially as it become more affordable. My cousin has had botox and minor plastic surgery and she most certainly is not employed in any of the media industries, she's actually a housewife but she felt the need for it, could afford it and consequently went ahead with it. I understand that a lot of actors and actresses have work done on their teeth so it's not a huge step to imagine that botox and plastic surgery also play a part in their arsenal of trying to keep age at bay, to ensure that they try and look the same, more or less, as when they entered the acting profession.
Whether Jay Tavare has had his teeth done, botox, minor or indeed major plastic surgery I have absolutely no idea. If he has, fair enough. If he hasn't, then that's fair enough too.
What concerns me in all of this is the worshipping at the altar of youth and beauty that we've all been conscripted into. Age, experience and wisdom seem to count for nothing. For a society, any society I find that extremely worrying and not a lttle sinister.

Indigo It's too late you have shown you are a racist and your comment still stand on your silly post and I was not the only one who found your in accurate remarks ignorant and racist in tone.
Show me a shot of Jay where he is orange??? You have never met him in person so how can you tell skin tone based on a photographs?? It makes no sense and it shows yet another area were your ignorance is evident.
Learn about exposure and how lighting a subject differently makes the person look completely different, and add to it the time of day and the degree of shade in the print and you can have any color skin you like, photographers print a shot the way they see it. It may look nothing like the way a person looks in life.
Now by looking at Jay in his films and most of his pictures including the ones you have not seen on his my space page show he is the type that tans quickly and has a bronze tone to his skin.
This also matches what everyone who has ever met him says about Jay and his complexion.
Now if you know a little more about him you would know he eats clean and has always maintained a world class body that he uses in the most amazing way in his films.
I had read he has done all his own stunt work right back from his first big film Street-fighter.
So how hard is it to see maybe his youthful looks and his age less body is not from drugs or botox but clean and disciplined life that he has lead.
We had a voice chat with Jay last year and the question of the dance group came up and he did mention that they worked in spain as well as all over Europe but that it was not a Spanish group.
I don't disagree with you because I want to make you wrong Indigo Clown
I do it to get the real story to folks who want to have the correct answer.
Get over yourself you no nothing on Jay dispute all that you think you have read. That is the sad part. Your mob has spend as long if not longer than any fan I know to find things about Jay and yet you lot really have no clue what he is about or what he stands for or what he looks like.
Now isn't that so fascinating. I had never heard the teeth comment before.
Also I never freak out, if you look back at most of my post that are still standing, I think I countered every accusation you lot made and I think I came across better than you who only thinks of your self so hightly because you are un aware of how your ignorence comes across to others.
Oh the Jay's age and name thing I can prove that 100% he is not born in 1959 and his name is not Richard or Jai. But that is another story.

haha i loved your summary of the interview! i reckon jay is very good looking but he is too up himself and that answer about being like an 'exotic dangerous cat' made me laugh 😛
however i do feel sorry for him cause he didn't have parents growing up and i think thats why he is quite arrogant.
