OkayI was watching "The Missing" the other night with my little cousinwho has seen all of Jay's movies with me (lol) and she looked at me and then shook her head and I was like "what?"
Then she asked me "Why does he always die in all of his films?" I didnt know how to answer that but I told her it wasnt about always dying in films but the characters he portrays
Why does he die in all of his films? That makes me curious.lol
    SorryCuriosity killed the catlol
    Thank you,
    Crystal

      He didn't die in Unbowed.
In Streetfighter, they didn't show him die.
He didn't die in Escape from Grizzly Mountain.
He didn't die in Into The West.
      He didn't die in Adaptation.
You should share these with your cousin too.

I guess it's a bit of a running LOL, joke; but please don't take 'this' seriously.
Though it wasn't 'exactly' shown - death was implied in "Streetfighter"
In Into the West, it wasn't shown, actually -my understanding ? Jay's 'dramatic death scene ended up on the editing room floor, but I thb68ink (?) he joked about it on his site.
And yeah, we all know he died in the 'Missing'- a good death scene actually. We all wanted to 'get' Eric Schweig.LOL
Then, of course 'Cold Mountain' - he died ! But the fight scene in the pit was good !!! Pathfinder - a dramatic death.
You know it's like 'horror movies, and when you wonder who is going to get killed first, and there is a group of people - look for the person or color - good chance they'll be the first to go..
It would be good to see him in an important body of work, where he doesn't have to die to have been an important character. Who knows - maybe it'll be something he'll write for himself.

Im annoyed that they cut his final 'death' scenes from Into the West i would have loved to see him get some more screen time.
I want to see Jay in a passionate love scene 🙂
