I remember the day that I heard the news that she had died, back in Dec. 1998. Even stumbling across that information again brings tears to my eyes. She was so beautiful, and so young. Who would have ever guess that a 20-something year old would have stomach cancer? Reality is that chances are by the time that it was diagnosed (I read, back then, that she was dx'ed Sept.) it was already too far gone (she died in Dec.). Knowing the devistation of chemo. and radiation, whose to say she did not make the right choice?

I remember when I found out back in '98, (I'm a young and the restless fan) It was a shock because she never looked sick. I really admired her talent BEFORE she died, but I really admired her spirit AFTER she died, because she was actually diagnosed back when she was on Family Matters, and she never let it get in the way of the rest of her life. She was so beautiful and talented, and Hollywood really lost a TRUE star. May her soul RIP

I'll never forget when I found out. a few days after Xmas in 1998. IMDB is wrong. She died on Xmas Eve. I'll never forget because that's my birthday. God brought home another talented angel just as he did with Aaliyah and all the countless others before them and after. Stay up everybody.

wow i had no idea that she died. And from stomach cancer too at the age of 29. That is so sad. I remember she was very pretty. I just realized the year she died was also the same year of phil hartman's death and the xmas before was the year chris farley died. So sad.

I was like, 9 when she died and I remember being so sad. She was so gorgeous, and seemed like a genuinely likable person. I remember hearing that she died in her boyfriend's arms. Cancer doesn't discriminate. Oddly enough, my mother Myra, has suffered cancer before and has beaten it. It's a very scary reality.

i'm now watchin Family matters and wanted just to see sth on imdb and then schock:date of death!!!it was 2 minutes ago and Im stilll in shock!I liked her charachter and like many of u said she was so beautiful and talented!And she was so damn young1all her future is gone!Who would know if she would still be allive if she had taken chemo or sth like that!

I just found out 5 minutes ago =O I was on another board and someone randomly said "no but the girl who played myra on family matters died from a decease" and my jaw dropped!
So you're telling me all this time I've been watching family matters after school, thinking everyone is doing fine with acting, that she DIED IN 1998?!
Jeesh! That's a shocker.and it is very very sadshe was beautiful.may she rest in peaceI hope she is at rest and with other loved ones as well.

I read that it was just a rumor that her boyfriend was at her bedside when she died. She had previously dated Malcolm Jamal Warner, from "The Cosby Show" and they were not seeing each other at the time of her death, so it is unlikely that he was at her bedside, but I am sure that he was just as broken up as everyone else who loved her
