Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Susanna Thompson

I was just watching through Voyager again and am at the finale episode; End Game, only to realise that they used Alice Krige instead of Susanna for the role, even though Susanna had done the role so perfectly in the series.
Was there some sort of falling out with her and the producers or is it because they were able to get Alice for the finale so they decided to snub Susanna?
I find it quite wrong that she was robbed of that final episode.

They wanted to use her, but she was not available
      at that time.
Because she was working the TV show Once and again.
may you always have joy in your life!!

Oh I see. Thanks for clarifying. It's a shame she couldn't do it.

Also what is interesting Alice Krige was first choice before Susanna in the episodes Dark Frontier and Unimatrix Zero, and Alice Krige was busy with another project, so they did use Susanna for those. Then was Susanna was busy with other projects, Alice Krige was available.

I seem to recall Susanna auditioned for the role of the Queen for First Contact and lost out to Alice?

That's strange. I always thought that the entire Star Trek franchise liked re-using their actors/actresses, even if it's as a different character or different series (eg. TNG's Dr Polaski).

Yeah, that was the case. There is an interview on Youtube.
