I really have nothing against Pattinson, but sorryI agree.Valentino was one-of-a-kind. The best looking man who ever lived? The sexiest? That's subjective. But he had something going on that was pretty memorable.

Those FANS who think this idea is crap are just silly.
A film like this would give Valentino the BIGGEST attention since decades and decades.
Would be an amazing promo for new books, docus, DVDs, revivals ectr.
Who cares if the film is good or bad? -

Pattinson hasn't really done enough yet to tell if he can act. I saw him in a film called "Water For Elephants," and also "Cosmopolis" and I thought he was fine in those films. But the idea of this pasty-faced, anemic pussy playing the Olive skinned Italian lady killer, Rudolph Valentino, is just offensive and ludicrous.

R. Valentino: one of the sexiest, most charismatic and elegant icons of all time. R. Pattinson: a skinny, anemic nothing with ZERO charisma and minor talent and generic, COMMON good looks..end of discussion. And the fact that ANYONE could suggest that this douche could portray Rudolph Valentino, is yet another sign of how society is disintegrating..

I agree Pattinson would not fit.
I noticed today on General Hospital that Bryan Craig, who plays Morgan, reminded me of Valentino. With the right hairstyle and colored contact lenses, I think he could pull it off, certainly better than RP. He isn't well known outside GH though. -

Not being 'well known' is actually a good thing when an actor portrays a famous person. An unknown, fresh face would be needed to portray someone like Valentino. I'm not familiar with Bryan Craig, but I always imagined a Valentino look-alike would not be that hard to find, just by looking to the Italian or Sicilian countryside. There are a few Italian models that have appeared in Gucci print ads that would be perfect. I don't think any known actor working today possesses the raw sexuality that Rudolph Valentino had. It was the same situation when they made the bio pic of Gia Carangi. No actress, including Angelina Jolie could compare to the beauty that Gia possessed.

Bryan is pretty good on GH. I don't know what his real ethnicity is, but he plays the son of a Greek character I believe (I think Sonny Corinthos is Greek, he is played by Maurice Benard).
I think it's hard to find actors/actresses to play real life beauty icons and it just goes to show how unique every person is. I agree about Gia, and also I have never found any of the actresses to play Marilyn Monroe to measure up. Same with Dorothy Stratten. I haven't seen any movies about Jean Harlow, but the actress I did see in photos, while pretty, still didn't have the same beauty. -

Well, they just had an up and coming actor play him on American Horror Story and he did a good job and actually looked quite like him, so, sorry, Pattinson is all wrong for the part.
Now just because we've lost three sheriffs don't mean we're going to lose four.
