Super Password brought me here too, it was mentioned on the KL board that he passed (he was on the game show with Constance McCashin). I never knew he died!
He was in so many things during the 80's, RIP.

I did5b4 not know he passed away at all and like you said I did not know he passed away either until I came to the board here. I wondered whatever happened to him because he did a lot of things like you said in the 80's.
He must have been hooking up with a lot of women out there in California or possibly in Hawaii.

Well that is sad to hear but if he was openly gay then that explains it then because back then they really did not know anything about AIDS. I am sure he was funny in high school.
He always was casted as the character who was not very smart except his role in Popcorn though. That was different and took me by surprise when he played the bad guy in the movie.

i'm watching him right now on the game show network on a repeat of $100,000 pyramid. i didnt know he was gay either or that he had passed until i came to imdb, but i remember him being on a lot of shows and being very funny. sad to hear he's gone.

I really feel like this guy was in a lot more stuff than is listed on here. I've only seen a few of the movies listed on his page, but I could swear I've seen him in more roles. Did he do a lot of commercials, maybe?

Yes! I know I've seen him in something, and I highly doubt it's anything listed on imdb. Weird.

Saw 'Popcorn' for the first time two nights ago. Really enjoyed and would buy a copy. Anyway, looked up the movie to see what I know Tom Villard from. I think it must be Deep Space Nine. Couldn't believe he has passed away. Should have been nominated for his marvellous performance in 'Popcorn'. Reminds me of Heath Ledger as the Joker.
Sad to see he passed away. Looking at IMDB I realise he was in his late thirties in 'Popcorn'. This beats the cast of Grease and Beverly Hills 90210 for having the oldest 'teeenagers'. -

Tom Villard was terrific as the deadly and deranged, yet still pitiable and tragic Toby in Popcorn. He was likewise very funny in One Crazy Summer. Moreover, it's such a heartbreaking tragedy that Villard at the too young age of just forty from AIDS.
