Frank Vincent is in more mob movies than any actorI think you should be asking for more mob movies in general than asking for him to be in one. He plays a good mobster and is a great actor.

Christ he's on Sopranos now,a natural fit. Next best thing to mob movies, although the show is a mix between Goodfellas & Donnie Brasco.

          Overrated-Damon & Affleck,Mel Gibson,Tom Cruise,George Clooney,The Godfather,Star Wars,George Lucas,Leonardo Di Caprio,post Heat De Niro-we all know something's missing Bob and it's cuz you are making films that are beneath you,play a bad guy again,you have no balls now in film,it's scary!The Matrix Trilogy,Will & Grace,Frasier,South Park,Friends-hasn't been funny since the 5th season,CSI-this show is so fake,reality tv.
          Underrated-James Spader,Steve Buscemi-always has been,Liev Schreiber,Willem Dafoe,Timothy Olyphant,John Turturro,Smallville,The Wire,Best Cop Show & tv show Ever-Homicide,Oz,Six Feet Under,Larry David,Fairuza Balk,Christina Ricci,Roswell,Angel,Michael Imperioli as Christopher-best Sopranos character period. I could go on but would be too long.
As for Frank Vincent he's a character actor,he's at his best in mob related films cuz I think that's all he can do. He's done the 3 best Scorsese films and now Sopranos-natural fit. He is good, but doesn't say much. Not nearly as underrated as actors like Spader,& Schreiber or the best character actor ever the late great J.T. Walsh!

Are you insane, how can Steve Buscemi be underrated, he is one of the most well respected actors out there (and rightfully so). Directors want him, other actors wanna work with him.
bottom line, he's a great actor not a movie star, thats the way he chooses to be.
Frank Vincent, it takes nothing to play that strong silent type that he's obviously so attracted to, how can he be called a g2000reat actor. Tom Cruise is popular because he has the looks, he spends hours signing autographs and he chooses mainstream roles.
Doesnt mean to say he hasnt got acting ability because he has, watch Vanilla Sky, his performance represents more than Frank Vincent could ever achieve.

I take it all back, Frank Vincent is clearly a great actor.
Impressed with his recent performances in The Sopranos, brilliant!

It's laughable to call The Godfather overrated.

Wow, I was really agreeing with you on most of your picks. But whether it has become cliched and oversentimentalized after 33 years, The Godfather is still a great beep ing film. By the way, do you just have crushes on Fariruza Balk and Christina Ricci, or do you actually think they have done amazing work, 'cause I'm drawing a real blank there. I can forgive a crush, but bad taste gets you spanked red.

frank vincent isnt under rated,he is the exact same in every film he does,if he was anymore wooden robert de niro would have got splinters in his foot when he kicked his head in in goodfellas (my favourite part by the way)

C'mon, he's not overrated, he's terrific. Sure, he plays mobsters most memorably (okay, by far), but he does a great job in doing so. I haven't found him to be "wooden" at all, I've found him to portray characters one remembers, in large part because of his believability. How would Chuck Norris, e.g., have done with the role of Billy Batts?

                        some very UNDERRATED are:
                        Giancarlo Esposito
John C. McGinley (i dont know why he doesn't get more recognition because he plays all his roles so damn good.)
Harvey Keitel (not necessarily underrated, but has seriously been jipped on awards in his lifetime. he is capable of very moving work.)
                        Damian Chapa
                        Terrence Howard
                        Erika Christensen
Christian Bale (where's this guy's Oscar? its long overdue)
                        Joseph Gordon-Levitt
Salma Hayek (she's known but doesn't get the recognition she deserves)
Zhang Ziyi (very, very talented actress)
                        Alfred Molina
                        overrated:
                        Ben Affleck
Morgan Freeman (he's alright, but he's not THAT great)
                        Ice Cube
                        Keira Knightley
Malcolm McDowell (Clockwork Orange was his only great performance)
                        Cybill Shepherd

                            Here is my choices:
                            Overrated:
Brad Pitt: I love the man, but I havent seen him act since Legend of the Fall
                            Gwyneth Paltrow: WAAAAAYYYYY overrated.
                            Paris Hilton: Disappear already..
All Star Wars: Not an actor but the franchise is way overblown.
                            Tom Cruise
                            Madonna
                            Matt Damon & Ben Affleck
                            Jennifer Lopez
Clint Eastwood: He's an icon but I never understood what was so great about his acting or directing. His supporting character hold him down.
                            Halle Berry
                            Underrated:
Gary Oldman: I love this man, can someone give him a script
Cate Blanchet: She is a great women but I'd love to see her more recognized albiet oscar.
The Bridges Brothers (Beau and Jeff)
Marissa Tomei: So many ppl only think of My Cousin Vinny, but she tears up the indie scene
Chloe Sevigny: Okay let go of the Brown Bunny debacle and recognize a talentd no holds barr actress.
Alfre Woodard: SOemtime I don't think ppl remember. SHe's Fantastice

Holly Hunter: Oozing with talent but not as recognized as some of her peers.
                            Jake & Maggie Gylenhall
Julliete Lewis: I miss watching her act
Anna Paquin: SHe stole my heart in THE PIANO and she stole it again in X - MEN and the 25th hour.

What are you guys yammering about? Frank Vincent is always type cast as a mobster. I never seen him do anything else. What makes you think hes underrated? He cant play anything else good but a mobster. Stop praising someone so highly cuz we all know, if he was to get a different role in a movie as a totally different kind of character, and not a mobster, you'd all jeer the man and say for him to stick to the mafia films. So dont gimme that, underrated actor crap.
Andrew Divoff is a underated actor. He is amazing and no one sees that rare jem he has called "extreme talent".
frank Vincent?!?! You all should go home and get your "f-ing shine box".

Frank Vincent is absolutely brilliant in Casino he has a big role in that film(the main character other than the main 3) and is superb throughout. I have only seem him in Raging Bull,Cop Land and Goodfellas as well as this but have loved his work in each one he is a fine actor.

Nick Cage is way overated. His Las Vegas drunk act was terrible. I speak as a
26 year dry AA member. He stinks up every flick he's in.
Wanna good 1? Ray Milland in The Lost Weekend. Jack Lemmon in Days of Wine and Roses.
Love Gary Oldman, Steve Buscemi, Morgan Freeman, Sam Jackson, Larry Fishburn.
1 of the best character actors..M. Emmett Walsh. Great in Blood Simple.
