Eamonn Walker is much better than Denzel and personally, a better man. This guy could act circles around Mr. I Think I'm Important Washington and he's a far betrer person.

of character. That doesn't make him a "bad" actor. I guess it just annoys me that he always seems to play a certain type of guy. I realize that he can only take the best among the roles he's offered, so I guess it's too bad that he isn't offered better roles.
My initial statement was wrong, but the fact that he seems to frequently play a certain type of character kind of annoys me.

That's not Eamonn's fault, it's the fault of a myopic studio who can only see him in one frame. I admit, I've only seen him in "Tears of the Sun" and "OZ", but from what I've seen of him, Eamonn's a damn fine actor. The best of the breed. I would have loved to seen him in "Julius Caesar" on stage. He would have been amazing.

I'm sure Eamonn will read this damning review and it will keep him up at nights. "Do I suck?" He'll say "Am I, like, a dude, man?"
Apparently, he needs some better PR if he's to appeal to the Sk8boarder generation!

I just saw him in "Duma" and I thought he was terrific.

If you are going to post something like that, please give us some specific reasons why so we can have an intelligent discussion. He has gotten the short end of the stick on roles outside of Oz - even his character on Fox's JUSTICE was very minor and wasn't too well rounded. They didn't really give us too much information on the character.

I didn't like the Kareem Said role he had on Oz. He made Said a raging lunatic that made mountains out of molehills and he acted as if he was above everyone else, even the warden. Kareem BROKE a law so he's just like all the other inmates - they were found GUILTY in a court of law. But Kareem always acted like he was doing it for the greater good, etc.
You can't do too much "good" for the planet in prison.

That was the point of the character. Said thought of himself as the martyr type and also happened to be very well educated. He used his knowledge and faith in Allah to help himself get through prison, improve life in the can and to help out his fellow prisoners. I thought it was an interesting facet to the story of Said's attempts at reform and his non-violent ways towards his fellow prisoners (I'm speaking of pre-mid season 4). And Walker's acting made it all the more compelling. I also felt his demise was rather abrupt and could have been resolved better.
As for the thread question, Walker's a superb actor. I guess I watched different shows and movies than the rest of you. -

I couldn't agree more!
I actually just typed the same thing in a different post (I believe it was the Oz message boards).
Eammon is a w2000onderful actor that I don't think is given much opportunity to stretch, but to me, he does the term "character actor" complete, utter, true justice.

this person obviously has some personal reason for not liking eamonn walker. not that i care what it is, but they might have made their point better with some constructive reasons why he thinks so and with what authority he has to say so.
obviously looking for attention, so why not post something that is going to cause a definite response (well, it usually works).
what an annoyingly bad poster. this dude sucks.
