I don't like that it says he won an Emmy for Crazy Like A Fox because in the awards section of his biography, it says he was twice nominated for that show but never won. That just ticks me off when obituaries about an actor or actress report that they won an Oscar or Emmy when in truth, they were really only nominated. There is a big difference between being nominated and actually winning.

Actor Jack Warden has died at the age of 85.
His acting career lasted some 50 years, Some of his roles where the Juror with the Baseball Tickets in "Twelve Angry Men", Clark Gabels Cheif in "Run Silent-Run Deep" and played a newspaper editor in "All the Presidents Men" and won a couple of emmy's for his lead role in the 1980's show "Crazy Like a Fox".
Actually looking over his obituary I found it interesting that he served in the US Navy, US Merchant Marine, and the US Army. He had joined the Navy and spent the 1930's patroling the Yangze River in China, He joined the US Merchant Marine in 1941 and spent time on the North Atlantic Convoys. He quit that union in 1942 and joined the US Army, where he trained as a paratrooper before being assigned to the 101st airborne division. He broke his leg badly in a practice jump before D-day and spent a year in a stateside hospital recovering.

I became a fan in the mid 60's with "The Wackiest Ship In The Army". From that time on when I saw Jack Warden's name in the credits I knew it would be worth watching. What a great actor who could hold his own with anyone! We'll all be coming along soon Jack; but for now, "we'll see you in the movies".

A Terrific actor and sounds like he was a genuine gentlemen too, which was more important. He never gave a poor performance.
Loved him in Shampoo. Favourite scene is when he turns up at a party, has a drink and at the same time the room starts flashing with weird lights, and he thinks its the drink. The expression on his face is fantastic.
