Contrasting to widingeric's underrated post, what do you think is the most OVERRATED Pink Floyd album?
I say The Wall. Come on, their 1970-75 stuff is better. -

yb68ou're all assuming you have to take sides. they're both phenomenal albums!
i reckon the wall is more overrated, though, if i had to choose.
to be honest, they're both overrated in comparison to wish you were here which is clearly their best, or something like the live disk off ummagumma which is flawless! -

Don't kill me for this sacrliege but I think their most overated album is "Piper At The Gates Of Dawn". Some of the stuff on that album is good, and Syd's lyrics are funny, but it's not the masterpiece some fans portray it as.

I agree that none of their albums are overrated. Pink Floyd expierimented with many great styles, such as Piper at the Gates psycadelic sound, Saucerful of Secrets "space rock" sound, they then found themselves with Dark Side which was a masterpeice. The Wall, Wish You Were Here, and Animals were all masterpeices too. But if there was one album that got a little more credit than it deserved it was probably The Wall. Dark Side cannot be overrated because it Dark Side! It is arguably THE best concept album ever!

I actually think The Wall is a brilliant album
I don't think any of their albums is overrated. If you put a gun to my head and told me to pick one, I'd say Wish You Were Here - because I consider it just a bit weaker than The Wall and Dark Side. Then again, Shine On is one of my all time favorite songs
"Mmmm Unprocessed fish sticks." -

"I still say The Wall is their most overrated album simply because you cannot listen to every song individually as you can with DSOTM, WYWH and even Animals."
That's because "The Wall" wasn't written to have stand-alone songs. It was written to be one continous interlocking story with every song connected to the next one.
