Pink Floyd does not have an overrated album. All their music and albums are amazing, and for those who say that The Wall is Overrated is should be ashamed, and I hope you don't consider yourselves fans.

I agree, both the concept and the sound of The Wall have not aged so well. Especially side 4 of the LP sounds quite unnecessary.

The Wall is not overrated, just the rest of their albums are underrated.

People seem to think "overrated" means it's bad or of lesser quality. That's not the case. I still like the Wall very much but I don't think it's thier best work and certainly not as good as people tend to think. And judging that the majority of the responses here are similar to mine I think it's a pretty accurate assesment.

The reason the Wall is so loved is that, aside from a number of great songs, it tends to strikes an emotional cord with most people. Musically the Wall is not the best at times, but I cannot call it over-rated as when the Wall does have it's highes, it is magnificant (Hey You, Run Like Hell).
The most over-rated Floyd album for me would be Division Bell or Piper at the Gates of Dawn.

A Momentary Lapse of Reason. That album was crap.

I don't think I'd call Division Bell,Momentary Laspe of Reason,or Piper at the Gates of Dawn overrated as I've yet to actually hear anyone say they like those.

Dark Side Of The Moonalways liked the Wall more, only like Dark Side when I haven't listened to it in months, though Time is probably my favourite Pink Floyd track.

In respect of the "big four" between 1973 and 1979, none is overrated; they are some of the best albums ever made, period! Of the others it all just comes down to personal taste, and I would say they have each received their just desserts of both praise and criticism
Rather than answer the op's question directly, I will just say that I regard The Division Bell as the most disappointing Floyd album. I still enjoy it, but it's not in the calibre of most of those preceeding it.

Dark Side of the Moon? You're crazy. Take a moment to listen to the entire album nonstop. It IS as good a sthe people say.
As far as most overrated album goes, it's probably The Wall. Unnecessary tracks and overuse of symbolism really throws off your perspective of the story it tells.

There is no such thing as "overuse of symbolism." And how can it throw off your perspective? There's a concept and they stick to it, no contradictions. I think it just makes it very clear and buried really good into your minds.

it's a very good album, but WYWH and the Wall are much better

I'd have to say "Wish You Were Here." I've always felt the "Shine On" suites took up too much time on the album and have too much synthesizer and saxophone. "Welcome to the Machine" has always annoyed me for some reason. The songs are good in general, but there's only 4 songs on the whole album. Yet it's one of their more popular.
Did I not love him, Cooch? MY OWN FLESH I DIDN'T LOVE BETTER!!! But he had to say 'Nooooooooo'

                                          Best albums

                                          1. Dark Side of the Moon - Masterpiece where everyone contributed
                                          2. The Wall - Probably the most mainstream album put together of all of them
                                          3. Wish You Were Here - Ode to Syd and awesome songs from Machine and Cigar
                                          4. Animals - Entertaining songs probably more enjoyable at the concerts
                                          5. Meddle - Initial signs of brilliance here, pre DSOTM
                                          6. Piper at the Gates of Dawn - The 1st album that started it all
                                          7. Division Bell - Gilmour's guitar skills continue to shine
                                          8. Momentary Lapse of Reason - 1st Post Waters album
                                          9. Saucerful of Secrets - Experimental album, no direction, a few good songs
                                          10. Animal Heart Mother - Experimental album also
                                          11. Final Cut - Seems more like B sides from The Wall
                                          12. More - probably good to listen to at 5 am after a rough night of partying
                                          13. Obscured by Clouds - I rarely listen to this, hence last
Not included: Relics, Umma Gumma, and other compilation albums that included songs from previous albums
