I value three of Pink Floyd's albums a great deal.
Syd's The Piper At The Gates of Dawn, tied with Roger's (and Dave's) Animals (mostly Roger).
And third place to Wish You Were Here.
These are the best, in my view. Artistically, I respect Syd the most, because he created a rich, literate world no one else could fill (Bowie tried). Animals is solid, gritty rock and roll, and there's no shame in that. WYWH is motivated by genuine emotion, which is what makes it a powerhouse.
None of the spacerock that Floyd inspired (and later ripped off post Roger) took with it the real guts of WYWH.
I'm ok with Dark Side, The Wall and Meddle. Dark Side lacks a sense of danger, which I consider to be essential to good art. It is maybe a bit too perfect. Beautiful, but not a true challenge.
The Wall is Roger taking himself way too seriously, with questionable symbolic content too. And Meddle is a bit dated. Still these are classics; don't want to judge too harshly.
