Roger was the only one who gave his consent for pompeii to go to dvd. thank god for that, nick, david, and rick were all against it's release.

Why would they be against it? It's such an amazing performance!

I don't know what their objections were or why there would be any. I also learned through the book I was leafing through that Waters and Wright fought over Brain Damage & Eclipse {I had never heard that before}. Wright{supposedly} didn't like Brain Damage or Eclipse, thought they were "too simplistic"
I don't know why they refuse to release anything from the 70's, whether it be live cd's or footage from that 1972 Sounds Of The City concert. What are they saving this stuff for ? It seems like they only want to release things from the 80's and 90's..YUCK !

Same reason the footage from the 1980 Wall shows isn't out there. it doesn't look like it was shot last year.
There are loads of problems with the Pompeii DVD release. The new digital effects look horrible, and in order to see any of the original footage you have to go into the "Bonus Features" menu. Then you have to go back to the altered "special edition" to see any of the interviews. It was a crappy package. But better than nothing I guess. There are problems with the original film itself from a certain point of view. A lot of the footage was unusable so they just used shots from the studio in London but it looks very obvious now. Only a small amount of the material is really live. Sound isn't all that good. The inter5b4views make them look like a-holes.
Did I not love him, Cooch? MY OWN FLESH I DIDN'T LOVE BETTER!!! But he had to say 'Nooooooooo'
