What direction will her career go?

Colonia didn't get great reviews but Emma was praised in most of them.

Emma Watson (The Perks of Being a Wallflower) continues to make a successful transition as an adult actress while Daniel Brhl (Rush) for some reason remains an underrated performer.

Watson anchors the film, and its refreshing to see a work depicting a woman attempting to rescue her boyfriend, instead of the usual damsel-in-distress scenario. Also, having her do so in a relentlessly and depressingly misogynistic hellhole adds a layer of depth and greater audience investment.

The core cast are excellent choices for their respective parts. Brhl is no stranger to politically charged narratives. Daniel wears his idealism on his sleeve to the point that his need for justice repeatedly puts them in danger. Watson is entirely convincing as the heroine coming to the rescue of her true love, which is a fittingly feminist take on a traditional narrative. Lena risks everything to save Daniel from an unknown fate, repeatedly putting her life in danger to get one step closer to her goal. The resolve Watson radiates is formidable. Nyqvists commitment to playing the cruel authoritarian is most believable, which makes it doubly disturbing.

Nyqvist is somewhat scary as Schafer, but his performance feels like an actor playing up cult leader clichs weve seen in too many TV dramatizations. Brhl is generally solid, although even he cant play the man pretending to have brain damage without being embarrassed. Watson too, who has grown into an excellent adult actress, is pretty good, even if her character looks too made up considering the hardships shes put through. But both actors have to work harder than should be necessary due to some very clunky, melodramatic dialogue.
these are the ones i came across. Most of them criticize movie but not the acting so much. Some more I read where they thought Emma and Bruhl were wasted on this script. So think its not a bad start.. -

Regression & Colonia did not live up to its expectations. I don't think either film will get a wide release.
Beauty and the Beast will show her box-office potential since she will be the lead. If it is a big hit, then most likely, she will get more roles (hopefully more mature roles).
The Circle seems like a good choice. I really hope this does good for her & isn't a miss like Colonia. -

Emma Watson is waiting.
She needs a big hit.
The only good news is BEAUTY AND THE BEAST(3D) is going to be a huge box office success and that could be great for the future of Emma Watson.

she's mostly famous for Hermione Granger. but she is going beyond Hermione and establishing herself as a serious actress. she will go far in the business.

I really don't think acting is her
metier
despite having fluked a career. I can see her as one of the new breed of celeb/activist as she seems to have a genuine talent for 'poor me' whiny platitudes. A future in being the face of NGOs and a Bono/Susan Sarandon worthy-cause support act.
