I've just been rereading her series of autobiographies. It's a tremendous example of someone overcoming an impoverished childhood and, on reflection, I can't recall a bad word about anyone in them. I expect she followed her grannie's dictum that if you can't say any good about a person, don't say anything at all!
When my husband was posted abroad with the army in the seventies, my own mother sent us the Sporting Post(Dundee) and The People's Journal every week, and Molly's letter was like another link with home.
A great Scotswoman who'll be sorely missed. -

Almost ten years since Molly's passingR.I.P
I was sad to see, after a search, there is no listing of 'Teatime Tales'. This was a short ten minute programme shown after the ITV children's shows slot, before the news was shown.
More often than not it was Molly simply sat in a leather armchair, with a wee tale to tell, usually putting a smile on our faces more often than not whilst we were digging into our evening meal.
Sadly these lovely wee ditties seem lost to the world now. -

Cheers. Can't under why IMDb doesn't have a page for it. Fairly sure it ran a few years. Another wee gem lost to the annals of time. Would love to see a few again.
I did notice the STV website has a link on Google if you search for Teatime Tales and STV but the video is no longer hosted. If they still have archives for loved past programmes they should allow people to download them all from a list. It annoys me how in this day and age most TV companies can't let us access old quality programming, as surely if it's available to them it's easy to host on their ample servers ?
Copyright aside, I'm sure much of their fair is owned by them and only the truly popular stuff actually sells on collected DVDcome on STV and other TV companiesdo the business and upload as much old nostalgia as you can and put some traffic your way and smiles on plenty old and middle-aged faces !
