I will chime in agreement every time with you on this katie. It's utterly ridiculous, I wish we knew what was REALLY going on behind this mystery. It's baffling really. The fact that his photo hasn't been updated is also an indication that no one is really managing this page on his behalfhis agency sucks!

I totally agree! It's like no one is paying any attention to the talent this man has and the fan base that still follows everything he does or is involved with. His talent agency, WME, sucks if you ask me. I just hope one of the powers that be recognize his massive potential soon! These little bitty parts he is getting are not taking advantage of all his talents! Fingers crossed that he gets his big break on the big screen soon!

As of today February 1 the last thing it came up was a photo of him after finishing his work on The Choice, it seems it's a small role again.
I watched some classic Smallville episodes yesterday and he looked so ethereal, I'm afraid he's typecast 😞 and he's struggling, and on top of that he doesn't want the celebrity game (which is justifiable, of course)
Maybe he should just take a tangent route and go all the way with independent films
        or, return to television

You may be right. I hope not. I hope that he has a bunch of projects that they are just waiting to announce; however, it does seem too quiet for the news to be good. 🙂 Hope everything works out for him and his fans!

I'm in agreement and have fingers crossed.
I wouldn't mind seeing him in some indies, where he can stretch his talent uninhibited by industry politics, it may not be a very profitable move, but as a fan, I just want to see him.s2000omewhere.anywhere, I don't care. lol
Tv would not be a bad choice either, seeing him every week is much better than for just 90 minutes of a movie. His fans are used to seeing him expand over a 10 year period of time.
No Feature film is really going to give us all the Tom we want, seriously, but that's just one fan's feelings.
To me, his talent is on par with Leo. I could Totally have seen TW as The Great Gatsby and in Inceptiontotally

I read some rumours that he may be used for the small appearance of Superman on CBS's upcoming Supergirl series. Whether that's true or not, who knows.

He is not that good of an actor. He try to do movies liked Fog and Cheaper by the Dozen and he just does not draw a crowd from anyone. He came from modeling and he is just not one of those actors that has any depth in any character he plays. He was okay in Smallville but the producers could have pick 100 different actors for the roles.
He got really lucky for landing Smallville but I dont think we will see any leading roles anymore.

Tom isn't a "great" actor but he is a fine actor. Like most actors he is a character actor and does what he does well. It's not like 4 years is an excessively long time for an actor to distance himself from playing superman.

I agree with the ones saying Tom Welling has it all, he showed great acting skills in many Smallville episodes, I think his mistake is not embracing the current superhero craze and play it to his advantage. I'm sure everyone would be excited to see him as Superman on TV. I know he justifiably may shy away from it for fear about being typecast but its best to be still working than fade into obscurity. Something Kristin Kreuk learned after starring in several independent films. Right now I think he needs the exposure. He has great chemistry with Kristin Kreuk and I wouldn't mind to see him in a series with her. I can't see Beauty and the Beast lasting past the fourth season (Not Kristin's fault Ryan just doesn't has the charisma) and although I'm one that would love to see the character of Clark and Lana on TV again if he won't play superhero then I wouldn't mind to see them in any other type of TV series together as cops, husband and wife, co-workers, any genre if they are costarring together I'll watch.

I don't think Welling's is mistakenly not embracing the superhero craze. I doubt it is his choice. Most directors don't want to be saddled with the baggage that comes from high profile associations. As I indicated previously it usually takes about a decade for an actor to move beyond the superman stigma.
As for Beauty and the beast it is pretty much guaranteed a fifth season because it makes more marketable for syndication.

I tried to watch Beauty and the Beast just because she was in itand it took all I could muster to get through the first 7 episodes before I gave up. I really am not sure how it has made it this long. The Fog really hurt Tom as an actor, it was so poorly done. Part of the problem is no matter how good someone can act, if the script or director isn't up to par then the actor looks bad, and really public opinion falls on their shoulders.Just like no matter how "just ok" an actor is, a wonderful script, director, and supporting cast can make them shine.

Tom Welling is going to star and produce a show for cbs called section 13. Can't wait.
