Avengers only sold well because of the nerds having orgasms over their superheroes coming together in an unprecedented film. Aside from that, it was a terribly run of the mill story and plot that has been done a t5b4housand times already.

I have to disagree. I thought the story was put together so well and that is why it was a major blockbuster. The story line does have a couple of spots in it that
that has been done a thousand times already.
but they were woven into the plot so well, they were hardly noticed. This may sound so simplistic but it is often true. The "Story line made sense". -

He can write. He can and does even write amazing scripts, but he sometimes lays a turd instead of a golden/silver/bronze egg. It is not really fair to look at a writer's worst script and bring out the cleaver and say "no more." You just call it a pathetic, pedophilic, baby seal clubbing equivalent of a writer half a$$ing and phoning it in.

I read/heard everywhere Alien 4 was a bad movie so I avoided this movie for years. But when finally watching I actually liked it. I liked the pace of the movie and the dark humor.
Then on IMDB I read it was from Joss Whedon and I realised why I liked this film. -

If you read the original Alien:Resurrection script (it's on the blu-ray I think) it's actually not that bad at all. A lot of the best bits are cut out, probably for being too expensive. There was an awesome chase through the ship's garden in armoured vehicles that sadly didn't show up in the movie in any form, and the ending took place on Earth after the shuttle crashed with the hybrid still onboard. The hybrid itself was described very differently, and in my opinion much better than the creepy, but not very alien looking creature in the movie. Also, some of the more bullcrap arty moments are just normal scenes, like when Ripley falls through the floor into some weird semi-sexual alien orgy moment just before the hybrid is born, in the script she was just captured by the alie5b4ns and cocooned with some of the scientist. She manages to break free and escape whilst the hybrid, who doesn't have any interest in her as a mother figure at all, kills the scientists. The rest seems to be some seriously odd choices by the director. The script is written as a balls out action horror (like Aliens) but the director made an art movie that kind of missed the point. It wasn't great by any means, but it was certainly entertaining and a hell of a lot better than what we ended up watching on screen.
