They were wild for each other in this unspeakable episode of the X-Files. I read they had problems to make it through the takes and vanished into his trailer for hours afterwards. They even arrived together at the Golden Globes
at that year holding hands. They were so hot.

Yeah you are right they appear at the Golden Globes together one year. I am not sure whether or not they were an item(it was before David hooked up with Tea). I remember seeing a photo of them together.
