is it not 'rubber sole' and 'pet sounds' that are generally compared by music critics?

Usually "Revolver" gets the number one spot. Anyway, I like "Pet Sounds" better than "Revolver", but it's nowhere near as good as "Sgt. Pepper's", "The White Album" and "Abbey Road". I like it about the same as "Rubber Soul".

Smile is better than Pepper to me but Pepper isn't as good as Revolver or Abbey Road.
The Beatles weren't great at having a true concept album. In that respect, Smile and The Small Faces Ogden's Nut Gone Flake were among the best of the 60s. McCartney was a better rocker and music hall homage creator than an aper of Wilson. Lennon and Harrison were similar types in some ways - they got closest to a darkly ethereal feel created by Wilson.

Love both albums, but I have to go with Sgt. Pepper.

Good Vibrations is the best thing ever created by Brian.
