Don't forget California Girls and You're So Good to Me.
Also, several people have said that Murry Wilson hitting Brian is what caused his deafness in his right ear, but that is not a definite fact. Brian himself has said recently on Larry King that he was born like that. I don't disagree that Murry Wilson abused his kids, particularly Dennis and Brian, but whether his abuse was the cause of Brian's deafness is still up for debate.

Here's the order of things leading to Brian's ultimate retreat from the world, starting from least important to most important.

                      1. Drugs
                      2. Abuse as a child
                      3. Intense pressure from Beach Boys/Capitol records.
                      4. Undiagnosed chronic depression.

I think alot of people are predisposed to mental health problems and as you said certain drugs esp hallucinogens (LSD, heavy Marijuana use) can aggravate certain conditions esp schizophrenia (e.g Syd Barratt and Peter Green) and I think-

I don't know Brian personally, but here's what I've gathered. A lot of Brian's physical troubles became evident after the bedroom period, after his dad died. It's very sad to listen to Sunflower and Surf's Up and hear Brian's wonderful voice, and then to hear 15 Big Ones and hear it totally destroyed. Brian has never been able to recapture that voice or knack for songwriting he once had, but he seems at peace now with his emotional troubles and that's good to know.
Oh yeah, no offense to the poster who was noting the Wouldn't It Be Nice book, but I've heard in numerous documentaries that most of that book was written by Dr. Landy, Brian's therapist, so I'm not so sure if it's the best source for Brian's biography.

All the above plus the knowledge, as anyone of talent may have, that he was a genius in a 'modernising' world that was losing some of the right to tap in to his classical meets 1960s mind on a whim in later, more debased, times.
