I don't remember where I heard this rumor back then, maybe in Harry Potter message board or something, that he was considered to be cast as Sirius Black or Remus Lupin way way back thenbut he refused because HP movie is based in UK whilst he is based in Canada nowadays. He doesn't want to leave his family. Hmm Although I do applaud his decision to stay close with his family, but if he accepted one of those roles, he'd probably could bump his name into A-Lister I just wanna see him in more roles in A-list movies Or television for that matter.

I think he would have fit perfectly as the role for Sirius Black. Watching him in the Highlander series and reading all of the Harry Potter books it appears that his look and acting would have worked well. He's even skinny enough to look as though he lived in Azkaban in the third Harry Potter movie lol.

I think too that he would fit perfectly as Sirius although I think Gary did that part very good. I think that if Petb68er did the role of Sirius I always wait untill his eyes start to glow

He's got a ton of muscle.I don't think he would have been good for either role.I love David Thewlis as Lupin and love Gary Oldman as SiriusI think they are both perfect.
Unfortunitly for Peter, I will never be able to see him as anyone else but Methos.I've seen him in many other shows/movies and if I see him I call to my mom, "IT'S METHOS!!!!!" lol.I just don't like him as anything else.same goes for Adrian Paul and Stan Kirsch.I just don't like them in any other roleit never seems to suit them. IMO.

I can never forgive him for killing Teal'C's girlfriend in Stargate. everytime I see him in anoher role I'm like "ITS HIM!!! OMG I HOPE HE DIES! HE GOT AWAY WITH KILLING THAT GIRL!!! >=O" and he does die in X2 so I was happy
So if he was cast as Sirius or Lupin I dont know what I'd do XD -

I know this is a very old topic, but I just now ran across it.
I wish he 5b4had played Sirius Black! The whole time I read the books, I couldn't help but picture Peter as Sirius. When Gary Oldman was cast, I found it impossible to "see" him as the character because of this and still am not able to. -

I love Peter Wingfield, but he wouldn't have been good for either Lupin or SiriusI love Gary Oldman and David Thewlis! I was so excited when Lupin came on screen (and I wasn't all that into Harry Potter at the time) but I went with my friends and they were like, what's wrong with you, as I was just giddy and smiling when Lupin walked in cause I was like, They got David Thewlis! All of my friends know how much I love Dragonheart and I loved David as Einonlol, they made fun of me the whole night, but I didn't care cause freaking David Thewlis was Lupin!
