I know that this topic has been brought up before but I just wanted to voice my opinion. A lot of people are saying that ERW is over-acting or not a great actress but then why does she still get cast in things. I've read ( sorry I don't have the source) that both Woody Allen and George Clooney called her up to be in their movies. That sounds pretty impressive to me. And I'm not about to compare actors to one another because I believe that they all have their own talent and path ( as ERW said once) but she's been acting since a very young age so I would thing that she would have honed her craft a little bit by now. And what does it matter if she turned down Inception to do indies. I prefer that she stays in indies anyway as I think that is where she excels. There I've said what I had to say. Please don't be overly critical of me or bash what I have to say, as I will not give in to any of that. I don't think people should be fighting on these boards but sharing their knowledge and questions instead.

Everyone has their own way of going about how they'd like to star in things; I would have loved to see her in Inception, BUT, that doesn't mean she would have been right for that particular part.
At the end of the day, so long as she is considered the best actress for the part, that's all I care about. I would have loved to see what she did with Inception, but I enjoy her all the same.

I personally think she's great. I've seen her in a lot of stuff and I'm always pretty impressed with her.
She turned down Inception? Was she supposed to play Ellen Page's part? I would have LOVED that. I love Ellen Page but I always thought she seemed like she didn't really fit the role.5b4 She seemed like a little kid next to Leonardo DiCaprio. I think EWR would've seemed young (because her character is supposed to be young) but mature. -

Agreed, although I found her somewhat mediocre until I started watching Westworld. She is absolutely incredible in that show!
Yes, the writing, direction and cast is top notch in Westworld, but aside from Hopkins her delivery stands out for sure. I think shes got awards coming her way for her role as Dolores!
