I just started it but I’m not sure I want to actually watch it because I find it horrifying that she was executed
They don't show her execution. But the women on the outside who made friends with Aileen after Aileen was incarcerated, filmed the white hearse leaving the prison with her corpse in it.
She was failed by society from when she was a child and even though she should not have done what she did, executing someone so broken as she was is evil.
If you watch the documentary, you'll know what I'm talking about.
She thought nobody cared about her or lived her.
Aileen had some last words before the injection was put into her arm. It was such a sad message. She was suicidal that whole time during the trials and while incarcerated. She wanted to die.
I think watching this might just make me depressed
Depression is too strong of an emotional reaction for me. I did cry for her especially at the part of the documentary where that dark haired reporter tells Aileen the criminal history of Richard Mallory. And when that same reporter cross examined John Tanner. He was lying so much. You can see the lies in his expressions and his reaction.
He lead a witch hunt on a raped woman. And all because he was a fcuking judgemental Bible thumper.
She was guilty of murder for those other 6 men. But Mallory was manslaughter. Aileen didn't get a fair trial at all.
So sad. I actually cried for her.

She was a sack of **** who took things that happened to her and used it as a justification for her hatred (and murder) of men.
It's statistically impossible for every single one of the seven people she murdered to have raped her. Women just like seeing men they think did that, or simply cheated on their spouses, get the revenge they "deserve." Someone raped her. Maybe her first John, maybe someone in her life before that. At a certain point, she cracked and started taking it out on every man she encountered. She lured them and killed them. They were all the same to her.

In 1988, before any of the murderers, she accused a bus driver of assault driver. It's the same exact pattern of behavior. She was always a victim. Everywhere she went. Everything that happened to here was completely and totally unprovoked. She just somehow managed to find the worst person in every town she lived.

If we wanna feel sorry for her then it does not change anything although at some point, you need to understand that Mallory raped and tortured her. There is reasonable doubt there.
