You cant say that nothing justifies killing and then believe that she deserved to be executed. If thats not hypocritical then I dont know what is.

im not saying this to either justify or deem what Lee did, but its quite understandable why. and to those who mentioned how many other women are in the same if not worse position and arent doing what she is, that may be true but how many of them are so drugged out because of it, how many commit suicide over it. and there are those who did what lee did and killed because its survival. or their thought for survival.
But to those who say she deserved to be killed for killing those men. how is that any different killing a murderer for killing a rapist ? no matter what its still killing. besides there are worse punishments then death .

To people who think you would kill because you had things happen to you like the things that happened to her:
I have been raped, beaten, molested, tortured, and tormented by members of my family and at the age of 26 have yet to kill or want to kill anyone. In fact, I got married, had a baby, and am now majoring in accounting and will graduate in 4 months. I did all this without professional help to. It's all a state of mind and what you are capable of. Once you become an adult, you can't blame your childhood anymore. That was the first step I took as an adult to get my life together. It would be easier to blame my childhood or others around me, but in the end my actions are my own.
It was obvious she needed help, but feeling pity for her is also not the answer. Pity doesn't help anyone.

The entire story was sad. Was she killed by the Department of Corrections? How can one correct something one has just destroyed?
The death penalty, be it by hanging, electric chair, firing squad or lethal injection isn't justice, it's vengeance.

An eye for an eye will leave everyone blind.
We have an amazing government that legalizes murder, in many forms. Rather than using money to help people in her situation before they become murderers, the government prefers to kill them after the fact to make it look like they are doing society some good.
I see Aileen's case as a sad example of someone who has slipped through the cracks of society, and no one was there to catch her. I don't think she needed to resort to killing people. I would hope that her case would spur programs and funds to help young people in bad situations before they get any worse. I think that it is pointless to speculate whether she was justified or not in killing those men, whether they deserved it or not, whether it was a product of her childhood, or of her mental ability to handle to situations. I think that, in order to prevent more deaths like this, we need to assume that something could have been done to stop her, and use that to help other people who are in situations like her.

Beautifully written. I couldn't have said it better myself.

Wow but not a word of sympathy for the victims.
