she was contacted to reprise the role, but at that point she had suffered from diabetes for 30+ years. Also by that point borderline crippling arthritis and she just wasn't healthy enough to do it.

At the conclusion of the Quinn series Jane Wyman announced she was retiring from the entertainment field. She was 77 years old
