With all due respect to Selby, Sullivan and Foxworth.
Jane's portrayal as the female J.R. Ewing was glue that held everything togetherespecially in the first and best yearand so painfully obvious by the last year when Angela was sidelined.

I loved the show until the last awful(and mostly Angela-less)season. Her portrayal of Angela Gioberti Channing Erickson Stavros was wonderful! And the chemistry she had with Cesar Romero was tops! Thank you, Miss Wyman, for so many great years on FALCON CREST! My sincere prayers go out to Michael, his wife, and her grandchildren.

I couldn't agree with you more.
For an actor, playing the villian is supposed to be the juiciest role.
Just look at "Dallas" who does everyone remember the most? JR
Same with Wyman playing Angela Channing. -

She totally made not show, plus it's one of the consistently great performances on television of the 1980's. It's unbelievable Jane Wyman was never nominated for an Emmy f5b4or FALCON CREST especially given the fact that several lesser actresses were nominated for less impressive performances in other hit nighttime soaps (although their shows were bigger hits).
