, Peter was in the first known teleplay involving a gay subject, "ITV Play of the Week" South (1959) which was recently rediscovered. I hope the general public (not just festival audiences, and not just UK audiences) will get a chance to see this again, given its significance to 20th century LGBT history, but also its mix of themes of the Civil War south, race, and sexuality.
