Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Peter Wyngarde

Why is this man not on TV? Surely there are many TV writers/producers who grew up in the 70s and would know of him. Get him a guest role in Doctor Who and take it from there!

Too right. Watching him in Flash Gordon right now. Wonderful voice.

You think they'd at least throw him an episode of Midsemer Murderswhy not make him the new Davros on Doctor Who?

I'd love to see him in something current, although I think his heyday was definitely in the '60s.

Dr Who isn't open to actors of mature years it seems. They had the great Derek Jacobi briefly appear befb68ore replacing him in the role with a young nonentity.
The BBC has a truly weird bias and political agenda these days; and not only in drama casting.

Frankly, he is a wasted talent. After the indecency case, the media dropped him big time. But now, in more "forgiving" times, he should be given more work. His part in Sherlock Holmes, as the rather louche Langdale Pike, was excellent and shows he can play rather sinister yet likeable characters.
