I just watched the new Dead Like Me movie; Life After Death. I think Ms. Wynter played the role of Daisy very well. It's hard when the actors we get use to in a role, can not play that part when the time rolls around again. Sarah portrayed the character in a way that was believable, and able to carry on the storyline.
My opinion. Feel free to disagree.

The entire movie was bad. I mean really bad. So there is no need to single out this chick. Kate Winsley couldn't have played Daisy well because we're used to seeing Laura Harris play Daisy. Could you imagine someone else playing Jack Bauer? Nope. It's just not going to work.

I transferred my copy of the Dead Like Me movie to my DVD hard drive player and used the edit controls to remove as much as her awful performance as I could.
Does not affect the plot at all - in fact shows that the producers made a mistake by recasting the role and should have used a new character - and allowed Daisy to "get her lights" prior to the start of the movie.

I have a feeling that YOU might the haggard old arse. she was fantastic and anyway, she's an ACTOR as an actor, when you are asked to work for a LOT of money, you don't turn it down. It's not HER fault that the producers recast.
Such negativity towards successful people is only going to bring you failure and misery. -

I think that is being really unfair. The Dead Like Me movie was awful because it was incredibly poorly written.
I agree she was hopelessly miscast and her character poorly written but I don't think it was her acting to blame. You can't polish a turd. They shouldn't have tried to recast Daisy fullstop.
Having seen her recently in Flight of the Conchords I believe she can act. She had very good comic timing. -

I have to agree that Sarah Wynter was terrible for this role. Not only does she look much older than Laura Harris but she didn't even get close to portraying the character the same way! At the end of the series we saw Daisy starting to get a heart and a conscience, in this movie she was a self absorbed bitch and she didn't even have the looks to be that way. She honestly reminded me of a mixture of Cate Blanchet and Amy Poehler. Horrible, just horrible! Could they not have found someone at least much sim16d0ilar in appearance to Laura Harris??? Hey they already screwed up the character.
