I think most of us were pretty disappointed that they tried to replace the character, rather than shipping her off somewhere, but I guess they decided that it was too much to "kill off" two characters. But wow. WOW! Sarah Wynters is SO bad in this film. Not too much prep time needed, sweetie had you taken a weekend and watched Seasons I and II, I doubt I'd be judging you so harshly.

What did you want, a clone of Laura Harris? If Sarah had played it that way, fans would have hated it. So she did a different take on the character. Unfortunately, the movie just doesn't give enough time to develop a new persona for a character with so much history.
They should have just introduced a new character but it was very late in the game when they learned that Laura wouldn't be returning. It would take time to develop a new character with a new story line and pull that off it limited on-screen time available in the movie. They must not have anticipated what a backlash there would be from some fans.

How about trying to at least maintain the characters depth? If she had "cloned" Laura Harris then at least I would have admitted that she tried her best to keep the original character intact. But she didn't. Every line that fell out of her mouth was a perfect example of bad acting and flat out disregard to the original show.

She said in an interview that she deliberately did not try to imitate Laura's version of Daisy, and went with something different. Obviously a lot of fans don't like the twist she gave it.
The Life After Death movie really didn't allow a lot of room for the Daisy character, emphasizing Reggie and George, so the lines she had were not so much to work with.
Maybe once back into a series, with some more in depth material, we'll see a Daisy version we can appreciate more.
All the characters were different one way or another from the series. Throwing another actress into the Daisy role was a lot to ask for dedicated fans who were aching to see Laura do Daisy again.

Yeah, it was was a really good character "twist" if the twist was to act badly and be terrible. She was so bad(as was the script)! The movie never should have been made.
